Ho Ho Ho Drink: Easy 5 Serving Ideas

Ho Ho Ho Drink is a new holiday-themed drink to try this winter! It is made with ingredients that are all-natural and healthy.

We created Ho Ho Ho Drink to give people an alternative to the high sugar mixes found in other alcoholic holiday drinks.

You can avoid the negative consequences of drinking too much sugar by using natural sweeteners like honey, agave nectar, and stevia.

My interest in creating Ho Ho Ho Drink comes from my love of holiday-themed alcoholic beverages and my desire to find a delicious way to have fun without being too indulgent. I have tried many popular drinks like eggnog, Sloe Gin Fizz, and Pina Coladas for several years.

What is Ho Ho Ho Drink?

Ho Ho Ho Drink is an all-natural holiday-themed drink made with all-natural ingredients.  It is a mixture of eggnog and a margarita and is delicious!

We created it as a healthy alternative to other holiday-themed drinks because most of the ingredients in those drinks are not good for you.

History of Ho Ho Ho Drink

In the 1800s, egg nog was a drink for farmhouse people & children in the winter. The rich would make it with egg yolks, cream, corn starch or arrowroot (to thicken), and sometimes brandy or dark rum.

Aunt Jemima introduced eggnog to the masses in 1894 with their “Muscle Nog.” By 1895, over 100 different recipes for eggnog had been published.

How to make Ho Ho Ho Drink

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup honey (local if available)
  • 2 oz vodka or other spirits (local if available)
  • 12 oz whole milk (or soy milk, almond milk…)
  • 3 oz spiced rum (top-of-the-line dark rum or sipping spiced rum…we like Barbados Rum!)
  • 30 oz eggnog

Directions:

Step 1: Place the honey in a small saucepan with 1/2 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, constantly stirring until the honey dissolves.

Step 2: Remove from heat and add the vodka or other spirits. Stir well to combine and allow to cool to room temperature.

Step 3: Add the milk to your favorite mixer or blender. Add the honey mixture and rum, and blend until well mixed.

Step 4: Add the eggnog to your favorite blender or mixer, and blend until well mixed.

Step 5: Pour the eggnog mixture into a serving pitcher, then slowly add in the alcoholic honey/rum/milk mixture, blending as you go along.

Step 6: Serve with cool, decorative ice cubes.

Can I Freeze It?

You can store Ho Ho Ho Drink in the freezer for up to 4 weeks. To freeze, place a small dish of ice on top of the mixture, and then cover the dish with plastic wrap.

You can thaw it in your kitchen sink or a cooler. We recommend keeping it as cold as possible when thawing to ensure you don’t get any bad flavors from the ice melting into the drink.

Is It Healthy?

Making your eggnog and alcohol is very healthy instead of buying it pre-made. The benefits are that they are all-natural ingredients that are healthy for you and the environment. You can use higher-quality ingredients with fewer additives, preservatives, and fillers.

What do I Say if Someone Asks If It’s Healthy?

I think it’s funny when people ask whether Ho Ho Ho Drink is healthy. The truth is that homemade things are usually much better for you than commercially available products.

If you say to a friend, “That drink you just had was full of chemicals and preservatives,” they will probably get upset that they can’t have alcohol in their drinks anymore since they are all addicted to the chemical feelings it gives them.

How Do I Use It?

Ho Ho Ho Drink is best served in a cocktail glass as a shooter or in a pint glass with festive ice cubes. We enjoy it with pieces of pomegranate, pineapple, and orange on top.

I usually have it on nights when I get home from work and need to unwind.  All-natural alcohol is good for reducing stress as well as your risk of some types of cancer and heart disease.

Who Invented It?

Gertrude Elion invented Ho Ho Ho Drink in 2015; she is a local blogger, writer, and author of the blog post on how to make this drink.

I’m pretty sure she’s a housewife and loves Christmas.  She’s also very smart and knows how to care for people and make them feel better when they’re sick.

Conclusion

We think that Ho Ho Ho Drink is tasty, fun, and healthy.  You will love this holiday-themed drink if you love eggnog as we do.

Its flavor and potency can be customized to taste by adding less or more alcohol to the mix.  Feel free to adjust the recipe to your liking!
