CROSSING THE BRIDGE NOODLES

The noodles you are about to eat have crossed the bridge. In China, crossing a bridge is considered very lucky, so they call it Crossing the Bridge Noodles. It’s not just luck, though; this dish has a fantastic flavour with lots of vegetables in it!

HUSBAND AND WIFE’S LUNG SLICE

Husband and Wife’s Lung Slice is a popular dish in China, but it doesn’t have anything to do with lungs or slices. It is fried pork lung that has been sliced very thinly.

One of the most well-known dishes from Sichuan province, Husband and Wife’s Lung Slice, also goes by another name:

“Lung A La Mode.” The dish was initially created as a way for anglers to preserve their catch when they couldn’t sell any at the market because it had gone bad

LION’S HEAD MEATBALL

Lion’s Head Meatball is a traditional Chinese dish made by wrapping pork meat around sticky rice balls. This name is derived from the meatball’s shape, which looks like a lion’s head and mane.

The origins are not well known, but it may have been named for its resemblance to an old lion statue in Beijing or because someone thought it looked like hair on top of a person’s head.

ANTS CLIMBING THE TREE

ANTS CLIMBING THE TREE was a funny China food name that I found in my favourite restaurant. It’s always been one of my favourites from the menu, but I had no idea why it even existed on the menu until now.

It turns out it is a dish consisting of rice with vegetables and either chicken or shrimp (or both). The best part about this dish is that you can’t mess it up because many different combinations to choose from!

BUDDHA JUMPS OVER THE WALL

Buddha jumps over the wall is a popular dish in China. Its exciting name and delicious taste have become one of the most sought-after dishes in many restaurants.

The word consists of a mixture of vegetables and meat on rice noodles, with soy sauce as an optional topping. This blog post will talk about how to make this dish at home for your family!

The first step needed to make Buddha Jumps Over the Wall is preparing all the ingredients you’ll need. You’ll want to have some cabbage (about 1 cup), carrots (1/2 cup), green onion, garlic cloves, Chinese mushrooms (8 oz.), ground beef, or pork (3/4 lb.), oatmeal flakes (1/2 cup).

VIRGIN CHICKEN

The term “virgin chicken” is a humorous Chinese dish name. The dish is made from fresh, young chickens that have never been slaughtered before. When cooked, the virgin chicken will taste like any other poultry meat and be prepared in the same ways.

The only difference between this type of meat and regular poultry is that it’s not smelly or bloody when served. This means you don’t need to worry about your kitchen looking gross after cooking!

DONGPO PORK

Dongpo Pork is a funny China food name. It’s not made from pork but rather from the meat of an aquatic animal called a river pig. River pigs live in rivers and lakes all over Asia; they are also known as water pigs or fresh-water swine.

The most famous dish to use this unusual ingredient is Dongpo pork which the famous Chinese poet created So Dongpo, who lived during the Song Dynasty (960-1279).

LES

LES (in China, crossing a bridge is considered very lucky, and that’s why they call it Crossing The Bridge Noodles). A dish consisting of rice with vegetables and either chicken or shrimp (or both). The best part about this dish is that you can’t mess it up because many different combinations to choose from!

Tofu Skin

This is kind of like fried egg roll skin, except that it tastes better than the egg roll skins we have here in America! It’s excellent paired with meat or chicken. At least try it once before you judge!

Black Chicken

Many people say that this dish smells terrible, but honestly, I think it’s delicious. The black chicken skin got charred during the cooking process, which gives off a kind of bitter smokey flavour but not in an overwhelming way.

Blood Clams

Yup, you read that right! Blood clams! It’s a Chinese delicacy, but please don’t get grossed out before you try it because I haven’t had much luck getting anyone to eat them with me.

The meat is tender and sweet, and the broth it comes in is refreshing and flavorful. You can buy blood clams, either alive or frozen, from any regular grocery store in China (I have also seen them at our local Indian store here in America).

Egg Cup

An egg cup is just like an American omelette except that the recipe is entirely different – for one thing, they use only egg whites instead of yolks, so it’s very creamy and smooth.

The best part is that you can ask them to fill your egg cup with anything that you want, and they will add it, so there’s no need for utensils! (Many people don’t like these because the egg contents are not thoroughly cooked through, but I find it pretty tasty.)

Stir-Fried Beef With Cabbage

This dish sounds simple, but when prepared by a real chef, it comes out great. The cabbage is soft, tender, and juicy, and the beef is very flavorful – I enjoy eating this dish on cold winter days or after a tough day at work! It also goes great with rice or noodles.

Black Pepper Lamb Chop

This dish is not for the faint of heart! I love lamb chops and black pepper, so this dish is practically made for me. The best way to describe it would be a spicy pepper flavouring on top of a perfectly prepared medium-rare piece of meat – worth giving a try!

Steamed Buns

This is one of my favourite dishes because you can make it into so many different things. It’s kind of like having a Chinese taco or burrito or whatever you want to call it with your choice of filling inside, but better (I’ve seen people stuff them with every variation possible from chicken, vegetables and eggs to beef and shrimp).

The steamed buns are soft and fluffy on the outside but chewy on the inside. I used to eat these with yoghurt as a kid, but now I like to share them with my SO (significant other) – she likes the steamed buns even more than yoghurt!

The best thing about this is that you can buy steamed buns at almost any grocery store in China, and they are pretty cheap too!
