Babes Chicken Salad Dressing is an excellent alternative to mayo or oil when trying to watch your fat content in the dressing.
It is lower in fat than traditional dressings and only contains three simple ingredients: olive oil, lemon juice, and water.
The dressing is also gluten-free and vegan, making it suitable for anyone looking to avoid these allergens.
What makes this recipe so different from its other competitors?
Pretty much everything else! First of all, it’s made with whole food ingredients that provide nutrition and flavor.
The only thing it’s missing is preservatives to keep it shelf-stable. Babes Chicken Salad Dressing is lower in fat and sodium than many store-bought salad dressings and is made with whole food nutrients, such as olive oil, lemon juice, and water. Simple as that.
There are so many different ways you can enjoy this dressing! I like to serve it on salads with chicken or fish, but the sauce also tastes great on spinach, kale, and cucumber sandwiches.
Try it with my recipe for Curried Chicken Salad or my Black Bean, Corn, and Chicken Salad. It’s also perfect in pasta, potato, coleslaw, and tuna salads. The possibilities are endless!
- 1 cup Babe’s Mayonnaise (may substitute for homemade mayo)
- ½ lemon, squeezed
- 3-4 tablespoons olive oil (this is where I say to taste it and add more as necessary for your personal preference!)
1. Place all ingredients in a small pot.
2. Heat on stove over low to medium heat, often stirring until the mixture begins to bubble and thicken, about 5 minutes.
3. Remove from heat, stir well, cool and store in the refrigerator.
