History of Starbucks Chicken Salad Sandwich?

This sandwich is one of my favorites. I love the unique blend of flavors. It’s very distinctive from any other chicken salad I have ever tasted, and it is always a hit with my family, so I wanted to share my recipe with you!

As far as I can tell, this sandwich was introduced on “Take Your Kids to Work Day” at Starbucks back in 2009.

This was a very memorable day as it also happened to be my oldest daughter’s birthday, and she got to spend it with her dad at his workplace.

How to make Starbucks Chicken Salad Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1 cup grapes, sliced in half
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup mayo
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste (about a teaspoon each)

Instructions:

1. Combine the mayo, sugar, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl; mix well. Mix the chicken with the celery and grapes in a large bowl; drizzle with the mayo mixture.

2. Toast the bread and spread a bit of the chicken salad onto both slices of the bread.

3. Add the walnuts and enjoy!
